A Mountain Estate Airpark....Like No Place On EARTH!

Georgia Recreation

The Northeast Georgia Mountain Area provides a multitude of opportunities for outdoor recreation. The possibilities are endless in Rabun County. Whether you're in the mood for a day of adventure on the river or a relaxing day of perusing antiques, Rabun County has all the ingredients for your perfect day. Rabun County contains hundreds of square miles of spectacular natural scenery.  In fact, sixty three percent of the county’s total acreage is in the hands of the U.S. Forest Service.  An additional twenty percent of the county is comprised of recreational lakes.  With eighty three percent of Rabun County protected, this ensures the area against over development, and guarantees that the county will remain pristine for generations to come. For the extreme sportsman, some of the best whitewater rafting and kayaking in the Eastern United States can be enjoyed on the Chattooga and Tallulah rivers just minutes away.  Horseback riding, fly fishing, hunting, rock climbing, and zip lining are also abundantly available.  The Appalachian Trail and Tallulah Gorge are nearby, and camping in the area offers some of the most brilliant star lit skies that you will ever see.

Blessed with some of the steepest, well-drained hillsides in the U.S., North Georgia’s topography, elevation, and climate is extraordinarily well suited to a relatively recent agricultural development in Rabun County – vineyards

12 Spies Winery

The vineyard's name came from the Bible and tells the story of Moses sending 12 spies to investigate the Promised Land. While there, they discovered grapes so large that it took 2 men just to carry one cluster. They brought them back on a staff along with figs and other fruit to show off their bounty. Successful in the corporate world, Mike Brown chose to travel down a new path in life. His love of farming was the only thing planned in the beginning. After planting and growing grapes for a few years, the decision to build a winery and tasting room was made. 12 Spies was opened in 2012.

Crane Creek Vineyards

At Crane Creek Vineyards, you have the opportunity to taste and purchase the fruits of our labors. At our tasting room, you are welcome to sample the wines produced from our grapes. These wines are the product of our own winery and other Georgia wineries, which have crafted our raw product into works of art. Tour our winery and observe an operation that perfectly merges modern winemaking techniques with traditional artisan methods. Also plan to join us for a variety of intimate events where food, wine and the beauty of the North Georgia mountains come together in perfect harmony. Our wine list is always changing throughout the year, so we often have new releases for you to try.

You may also come and enjoy a special Vintner's Tour. The Tour is by Reservation Only. The Vintner's Tour includes a tour of the winery, your wine tasting, a souvenir glass and a cheese/cracker plate. Check out our Special Events on our webpage.

Habersham Vineyards and Winery

Some of the finest award-winning Georgia wines have been produced at Habersham Vineyards & Winery since 1983. More than 150 medals have been awarded to Habersham Wines in both national and international competitions. The winery orginally was located in Baldwin until November 1998 when construction on a new facility located at the Nacoochee Village in Helen was completed. Located just one-half mile from Alpine Helen, the Nacoochee Village is now home to not only the Georgia Winery but to many other unique shops.

We use our best grapes and oak barrels to produce our premium, vintage dated, varietal Creekstone wines. Our popular Habersham Estates label include varietal vinefera wines as well as blended wines using both vinefera and French-American grapes. Southern Harvest wines use native muscadine grapes grown in South Georgia.

Montaluce Winery

Montaluce Estates is nestled on the 400-acre estate located 10 minutes west of the Dahlonega Square. The majestic Tuscan-style property abuts the Etowah River and the Chatahoochee National Forest. At the heart of the Montaluce Estate and at its highest point, the property boasts a modern 25,000-square-foot winery and restaurant. Reminiscent of a grand Tuscan Villa, with sweeping views of the vineyards and Georgia mountains, guests will discover the Italian ideal of "La Vita Bella." 20 acres of property are dedicated to vineyard, growing 10 different varietals of grapes.

Montaluce delivers award-winning European-style wines with a focus on Estate grown grapes. The award-winning wines are served and sold in the Montaluce tasting room as well as in Le Vigne Restaurant at Montaluce. Le Vigne Restaurant offers fresh farm-to-table food from Executive Chef Austin Rocconi, focusing on local fare and produce from the organic garden at Montaluce.

Tiger Mountain Winery

Tiger Mountain Vineyards is nestled on a hillside high up in Rabun County, on the rocky, sunny slopes of the North Georgia mountains. Our vineyard is small, the vines individually tended and the grapes hand-picked for quality. Our red wines are barrel-aged 12 to 24 months. Visit the vineyards and enjoy barrel-room tastings.

Beginning April 19, 2013, the Red Barn Cafe will be open to the public for lunch every Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. from April through November. Gourmet lunches will be catered by Rob Rotunno of the award-winning Corkscrew Café in Dahlonega. There will be live music on Saturdays.

Wolf Mountain Vineyards & Winery

The European-style Georgia Winery at Wolf Mountain is fashioned after a raised craftsman-style cottage and sits atop the cellar, which is encased in fieldstone. The winery is 8,000 square feet of indoor function space that includes a dance space, an antique bar area and beautiful fireplaces. The winery also houses early French winemaking artifacts. The Vineyard Cafe is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday* from 12-3 p.m. Educational winemaker tours are available on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. We invite you to join us at the winery and sample our family of award-winning estate wines.

Yonah Mountain Vineyards & Winery

Located at the base of historic Mount Yonah, Yonah Mountain Vineyards holds more than seven varietals on almost 15 acres of the 197-acre estate.

Enjoy celebrated and award-winning wines in the grand yet relaxed tasting room, which opened at the vineyard in March 2014. It features an octagonal bar and ceiling, fabulous views of the vineyard, a cozy fireplace, displays of local artwork and a welcoming staff.

Join the Tour de la Cave & Barrel Sampling for a tour of the only known wine cave in Georgia, great stories about "the oldest mountain in the world," and samples of future vintages followed by a wine tasting in the tasting room. The Tasting Room is open daily, and wine cave tours should be scheduled in advance.

Live music is offered every Saturday afternoon. Outdoor seating on the patio or breezeway, in the shadow of Mount Yonah, is available.
